Quilted place mats and table runner

I’m not a quilter. However, I was helping in the sewing classes at the high school a lot and they were sewing quilts. I decided to use some of my scraps to make quilt blocks – made some between projects. Some of the scraps are from outfits I made for my now 19 year old daughter when she was a toddler so there are a lot of memories wrapped up in these blocks. I was gathering them and figured I would make a quilt with them at some point. One day I decided to use them to make a table runner and placemats instead – I already made holiday placemats that I really like. These will be for spring and summer. Now I want to make some fall placemats and table runner. By the way, I put some of the stuff in the table runner (the name escapes me at the moment) that you use for potholders and such so the heat doesn’t go through. That way I can put warm dishes on the table without worrying about them.
