One of my favorite blouses was too snug in the underarm area, and the thought of taking out the sleeve and altering it in the conventional way was not appealing. I’m familiar with the simple crotch-lowering trick in which you turn one leg inside the other and carefully sew a narrow seam lower than the original to increase the body space. I decided to try a similar procedure on the blouse underarm; after all, it’s the same principle. It worked like magic. It was fast and easy, and the results are perfect. The blouse is now comfortable, and you can’t tell it was altered.
