Fall will be here before we know it. One of the shrubs in my backyard (Burning Bush, Euonymous alatus ‘Compactus’) is already beginning to turn red. The nights are getting longer, and conversely the days are getting shorter—both sure signs that summer is about to end—and short sleeves and summer weight clothing will disappear with it. As a SAHM with 2 boys I'm totally out of the fashion scene! With my younger one starting school this fall I'm getting prepared to re-enter the workforce sometime in the winter, and more than anything else, I need to sew a good set of basic pieces for a new core wardrobe.
I love it when vintage comes back around and back into fashion so I`d love to see some key things and styles from the past come back in.
I would love to see oversized scarves of all kinds incorporated into fall. Silk, crochet, woven, toille. It is a distinctly feminine piece!
I love wearing black/navy. So stylish.
Skirts seem great at the moment too.
I really need the secrets to fitting skinny pants! I've tried sewing them but they come out not so skinny.
What fashion trend would I like to see this Fall? I'm in Texas where it's been 100+ degrees most every day for several weeks. For Fall 'd like to see weather cool enough that I can actually WEAR my Fall wardrobe I've been working on! Really though, I'd like to see more people interested in small details that make an ensemble more personal and unique: more trimmings, brooches, scarves, and the like. Those things can always update existing wardrobes without needing to find more closet space.
I'd actually like to see jumpsuits for the Fall. Great fall colors khaki, greens.... And adjustable pant lengths to go from warmer days to cooler nights.
I would love to see more bright coats and accessories to cheer up cold, blustery winter days (and nights)!!!
I would love to see clothes with a touch of whimsy in a way that is wearable and fun without being over the top or scary. Clothes that make you happy with color and little touches of magic.
I love anything fall or winter since where I live it is winter about 5 months of the year. I love jackets and pants, and anything that helps dressing our body types.
The trend I would love to see this fall is color! I noticed in my local fabric store the darker fall fabrics are making their way to the storefront. I am not convinced we have to wear deep, muted colors throughout the fall and winter. It really helps with our overall mood in the darker months to wear bright colors and I think they can be combined with the blacks grays and browns we wear so much of in colder weather. Just my thoughts.

I'd like to see the comback of the 50's chic, with accesories, gloves and hats etc. Ideal for the british (changeable) autumn weather
I hope to find fabrics in animal prints that are suitable for plus sizes. Harder than it sounds.

Since Tennessee fall/winters cover a wide range of temperatures, I love styles that can be layered.
I want to see cool skirts with boots as the fall trend. Love those!! Also want to dress stylishly in a work place that is a lot of field work in the rain and mud.
I have some beautiful golden caramel colored material I'd like to see as a mid-sized hobo bag! I'd love to see purses for Fall that mimic the leather hobo and handbag creations of the top designers!
I would love to see the vibrant fall colors for office attire. Muted shades are great and have their place, but I really enjoy seeing the colors POP!
I was saddened that Sew Stylish couldn't make it as a subscription magazine. It is a very good resource for beginning sewists. I can find it only sporatically in my local stores.
I would like to see the rich colors of late summer in pants and skirts coordinated with overdyed prints for blouses this fall. I would also like to see lively, fun colors in rainwear to help ease the dreary days of the rainy season. The Fall issue of Sewstylish magazine would be a geat place to inspire me to sew after taking off for summer.
I would love to see an article (or more than one) about using tidbits of patterned fabric (like fat quarters or remnants) in constructing personalized high fashion garments. I have called myself the Scrap Queen at times because I love to pick through remnants and fat quarters at the fabric stores to find gems of patterned fabric. The hard part, sometimes, is figuring out the best way to use them to maximize their impact.
For Fall, I would like to see classics with a quirky twist. Something unexpected and innovative applied to a basic provides drama and interest.

The magazine looks great! I love bright colors and with Fall I think of gold with orange running through it. I believe that when the leaves start turning gold and orange with some brown and yellow, that is a time to mimic those colors. The heat indexes will be gone and the breezes will be cooler. Now is the time to finish those fall outfits and especially a coat of many golden and orange colors. I'm thinking of putting a brown bag with this outfit to represent the bark on those beautiful trees. Many people travel many miles just to see the foliage. Why, because that's nature's beauty. I can't wait for the "heat indexes" to be a part of the past.
I would love to see construction tips on outer wear, and up coming trends for outer wear. This magazine is a great treasure trove of sewing tips and construction basics.
Long svelte skirts, wool wraps, short capes, all the elegance of the 1930's & 1940's.
Living on the Gulf Coast, I rarely find it necessary to even wear long sleeves. I would love to see colorful fashions for the fall that are light and full of personality.
I would love to see articles on outwear & anything to use up the scraps of the fabric that I have laying around after making a coat or jacket. I love the hints & tips that I find in the magazine & wish it came out more often.
I would love to see rich fabriced fall coats in interesting hues, classic styling and interesting details.
I'm excited about the rich Bohemian fall trend because it can be an ageless look, which is important to me. I like the rich colors and fabrics of this look, and since it's often a layered look, I'd like to see a 'universal layering proportions' guideline chart.
I really interested in making my own winter wool coats with fun details. I'd like to see more in depth tailoring techniques.
I would love to see an Ipad app or electronic version of Threads. Any plan to make it available as an e-subscription?
I would like to see embellished fleece hip length vest layered over a dark toned solid color ski undershirt anda woven long sleeve top that either tucks into a belt or is worn as aloose over shirt and a skirt either very short with leggings or maxiskirt or bootcut pants in dark colors dyed to match the ski undershirts and velvet boots embellished with embroidery and jewels.
Orange! And fun accessories - hats, belts.
I love the look of 50's dresses with the huge skirts, but have yet to find a paper pattern for a crinoline/petticoat.
As a fashion designer and teacher of sewing and design I often recommend Threads to my students. I read the entries and confirm,"Yep I did that correct!" Satisfying, but even as an
expert, I look to Threads for an answers.
I love fall ( esp here in Portland where Fall is our longest season) as a time to create a new selection of clothes to add to my wardrobe and so do my students. keep it coming!!

I love garments that have a flair. The fall trends I have'nt really got a feel for yet. Faux fur is fun and anything business like would be good.
this fall i would like to see lots of fall colors in clothes, along with nice sweater and jackets that can be worn with an outfit and not just as an outside coat/jacket i would like to sew some nice fall clothes for my granddaughter she is 2 this October and growing like a weed she needs some fall clothes and sweaters and jackets would be great for her.

Each time a new SS mag is released, it will be announced online. You can also purchase it online in our bookstore if you want to, or just watch for it shortly after the announcement at your local fabric store. You can also order many of our old issues online if you missed one.
Cnels: There are no definite plans for an e-issue at the moment, but the more "correspondence" we receive from our readers, the more it will be discussed!
Moos: I suspect SewStylish will remain newsstand only at least until the economy climbs out of its downturn. Then we'll have to see. In the meantime, we've increased from 2 issues a year to many more (Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter Fashion as well as other special issues such as "Designer Techniques," "Teach Yourself to Sew," "DIY Bride," and "Quick Stuff to Sew). Keep watching our websites to see announcements of each new issue.
I am thinking mohair and autumn colors... soft, cozy but vibrant. Could even have a bit of funk, like those asymetric tops we have seen so much in the summer and that seem to want to stick around for the fall. Perhaps a touch déjà vu, but you can't go wrong with a funked up classic, can you?
I love leather trim details along with classic wool and tweed fabrics. It's also nice to see more color in combinations with neutrals. Looking forward to Fall sewing!

I would like to see some embellishment tips for re-pursing children's clothing. They grow so fast, almost as fast as the price of their clothing. Or just turning some plain tee shirts and jeans into designer looks to help cut costs.
I would love to see tailoring and construction techniques for heavier fabrics and wool-blends.
I would love to see tailored vests.

Fall is often a rainy season in many places. I'd like to see more attention paid to fun, colorful but warm water-resistant fashions, especially coats and jackets.
