McCall’s releases new stylish patterns for the cool-weather months.

Though the days are still warm here in Connecticut, the mornings and evenings are speaking of cooler days. For these months, I want my garments to have a mix of comfort and sensibility while still being current and flattering. McCall’s newest collection has patterns for every garment type that fit this nicely.

Pattern 6433 is a fitted dress with cap sleeves and three length options. The shoulder and optional skirt pleats give subtle stylish detail. This dress can easily be dressed up or down for office wear or an evening dinner. Appropriate fabric choices range from lightweight wool crepe to stable knit.

Pattern 6436 is a classic button down blouse sized by bust (A/B through D for Misses’ and C/D through DDD for Women’s). Choose from two sleeve and collar variations and optional patch pockets.

Pattern 6440, by Palmer/Pletsch, is the grown-up version of skinny pants. These narrow leg trousers have a side or back invisible zipper and three hem detail options. Suggested fabrics include gabardine, wools, double knits, and stretch wovens.

Pattern 6438 is a fun skirt collection. Views A and B are full, have a waistband and end just above the knee. Views C and D have four panels, a yoke, and are calf and ankle length.

Pattern 6445 is a warm and cozy cocoon style coat. It is easy to sew and comes in both Misses’ and Petite sizes. It is designed for medium to heavy weight fabrics such as wools, melton, and fleece. Add interest with optional trimming along the edges.

Finish off your cool-weather outfits with a cute hat and gloves combo. Choose from three hat and glove options in pattern 6450 and personalized them with chic buttons and even smart leather bows. Wool and wool blends are recommended.

Check out these and the complete new McCall’s line. What are your cool-weather go-to items?
