On November 28, 2001, Deepika Prakash founded PatternReview.com, an independent social network for sewing enthusiasts to discuss sewing techniques, patterns, and fashion. It’s hard to believe that this great online sewing community has been providing educational opportunities and bringing together sewers for ten years. Since its launch, the site’s following has swelled to 275,000 members.
To mark the tenth anniversary this month, site members around the world will gather face-to-face for a PR Day on November 19. Currently twelve PR Days are planned: Boston, Massachusetts; Austin, Texas; Long Beach, California; Seattle, Washington; Washington, DC metro area; London, Ontario; Winnipeg/Manitoba; Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; St. Louis, Missouri; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Copenhagen, Denmark. Each PR Day meet-up will have its own events and activities, so visit PatternReview.com and click on the city links for details on each PR Day’s schedule of events.
Happy tenth anniversary, PatternReview.com!
Are you a member at PatternReview.com? How do you use the site? Will you be attending a PR Day to celebrate the anniversary?
I'm hoping they have an online celebration as none of those are close for me to get to on Sunday. Attended PR Weekend Chicago last spring which was a blast!
