This billowy, floor-length, empire-waist dress designed by Badgley Mischka is ideal for the contemporary bride. The three-layer bodice features a plunging neckline with a gathered, draped front that extends around the neck. A fully lined dress, it fits closely through the bust and has a flowing skirt with tight gathers at center front. Details include a neck ruffle, a belt-like waist drape, armholes clean-finished with a narrow bias binding, center-back zipper, and a sweep train, all adding to this sophisticated yet feminine design. Instructions are accurate, and the sewing steps are well illustrated. In keeping with the light and airy mood the designer intended, chiffon is recommended for the dress and double georgette for the lining, as shown at right.
(Sized Misses’ 6-22 for busts 30.5-44 in. and hips 32.5-46 in.)
