Anyone who sees horsehair tubes wants to play with them. They’re light as air and architecturally ingenious. In this project from Quick Stuff to Sew, Vol. 1, we mold short lengths into tiny trumpets to make a feminine and sophisticated necklace.

This sheer tube is much stronger than it appears to be. Its whole purpose in life is to hold shape-which can change depending on how you twist, push, pull, and then anchor the tube in place. We decided that this old-fashioned trim component offered all kinds of great jewelry making possibilities.
