New SewStylish Pattern
It’s a 100 degrees here today in Connecticut, so it’s a little hard to think of fall. But, before you know it, the cooler days of late summer and early autumn will be upon us, and when it does, Simplicity’s Early Autumn pattern collection has some great items for your transitional wardrobe.
A SewStylish wardrobe
We’re excited about our new SewStylish pattern, number 1784. It is an ensemble including a six-gored flared skirt, wide leg pants, a fitted jacket with a single button closure, and a tie-neck blouse. Mix and match these items to make a whole wardrobe! The skirt, pants, and jacket work nicely in linen or lightweight wool, and the top looks great in a soft charmeuse or chiffon.
A fashionable ensemble from Cynthia Rowley
Pattern 1783 is the latest addition to designer Cynthia Rowley’s pattern line. The pleated and gathered pullover top has a bias-bound neckline with a keyhole opening in back. Make it with short or long sleeves and finish them with a bias binding to match the neckline. Pair this top with either the cropped pants or the mini skirt, both with a fly front opening and patch pockets.
A flattering vintage dress
Retro-inspired garments are extremely popular and pattern 1777 is a 1940’s dress that is just as flattering today as it was 70 years ago. The bodice is gathered around an eye-catching front inset with a jewel or V-shaped neckline. Make the sleeves 3/4 or full length. Suggested fabrics include a variety of light to mid-weight wovens or make it modern with a jersey knit.
These are just a few of the great early autumn patterns in Simplicity’s newest line–be sure to check out the complete collection.
