id love to learn proper techniques with using a serger
I bought a used serger and it can with a VCR tape, too bad I don't know anyone that has a working VCR player. I have practiced on it, threading it, trying out the different numbers of threads, cutting with the knives and now it sits in a room, all lonely. I am too intimidated to use it. I need help!
My serger has been missing me. I haven't used it in two years, mainly because I need the confidence to relearn all the bells and whistles on it.
I need some inspiration..... this DVD set is just the answer to inspire me!
Have been sewing for a few years. Now it is time for me to advance to a
Serger but of course as with my sewing I started with Shirt Making Techniques
with David Page Coffin DVD
I can always use instruction! I don't use the serger to its capacity.
I've just recently started sewing again and need to refresh my serger knowledge and skills. I bet this dvd is exactly what I need to jump-start my serging!
I use my serger but would love to 'really' use my serger! I understand it can do much more than it has. I think this DVD would be a good place to start. Don't you?
My old serger has been used exclusively for finishing seams. I would like to upgrade but need to have some instruction before I decide to purchase and put to better use the capabilities of a modern serger.
I have a little sewing school and would love to use this as a teaching tool in my classes. All my students would benefit from this DVD and become better sewers for it.
I just ordered a serger and would love to be able to "learn while doing" and use this machine to its full potential.
DH bought me a new serger for my birthday, would really like to learn how to use it. This video would sure help!!

My serger still scares me a little and I would love to have Pamela Leggett show me how to use it well. I have a DVD she made about t-shirts and she is a wonderful teacher.
Would love to have a copy of serger techniques.I have not used my machine very much. I only know how to just go with a seam to cut and overlock seam. I would love to gain creative ideas to do much more with my machine. Have a phaff hobbylock-older one.i am revamping my sewing space to use machines more regularly and make more clothes for myself and others. but, i need help to make the most of my machine. debbi baxter
I bought a serger years ago but never learned to use it! I would love to know how to use it.
I took a sewing hiatus when I started a business and now
have 13 years of rust on my skills. I'm ready for a major update and some relaxing by sewing!
Last year I invested in a Baby Lock Evolution. I has been one of the best investments ever. I would love to learn techniques to further use my serger. Sewing has become a big part of my life and 'Threads" is a big part of it. Thanks for a great magazine.
Hello, my poor lonely serger is still in it's pretty box. Please help me unwrap this sewing addition by allowing me to win the serger DVD..........
I have a top of the line serger purchased six years ago that's waiting to be put to use. Help me become a fearless serger!
Pamela is a wonderful teacher. I'd love to win this!
I am enjoying learning new techniques and improving my all my sewing skills. This book would be a big help with my serger.
Have used my 90's-vintage serger over the years for basic over edged seams and the like, but would love to do more. Still have the instruction video that came with it: on VHS.
Please help serger & me move into the 21st century!
I was given a basic serger about a year ago. this book sounds like what I need to use it better. Lee
I would love to win this DVD. I need help to take the fear out of using a serger. I want to improve my sewing skills, and a visual teaching aide is just what I need. Thank you for this giveaway!
My very kind neighbor gave me my first sewing machine and serger. I have since upgraded to a nicer sewing machine but still have and use the serger she gave me. I would eventually love to buy myself a newer/nicer serger but only if I know I will utilize it more than my current one; I think having a copy of this DVD might just inspire me to do that!
I have been looking at serger's but haven't bought one yet. I would like to win the DVD so after viewing it I would feel comfortable buying the serger I would like and how to work it.
My serger is there at the ready
for my skills to become honed and steady.
This DVD would do it,
I'd like to pursue it,
but first I just have to win!
My serger gives me great basic service for finishing seam allowances, etc. but I would really be interested in learning how to make the machine do its stuff! I know that it could do so much more.
new to sewing and my serger...l love it but i know i can do more with it...thanks for the opportunity!!
I use my serger to finish seam allowances and it would be nice to find other things to use it for.
Our little local ASG group here in Ch-ville just had a Sept. serger workshop and as far as I'm concerned, it was too short!! (it was an ALL day affair btw)
I have been sewing since '08, mostly clothes, and have been using my serger mostly to keep my seams neat. One of many things I just found out this weekend I can use my serger to put on a zipper. Obviously I have MUCH to learn!
Even though I have had a serger for several years, I know that it does a lot more than I try. I hope Threads has ore articles on using them in the coming issues. I do use it for a lot of things though...love it...would hate to be without it.
I've loved sewing since junior high school, yes that many years. I've purchased a serger recently and I need more info on how to use it better for my home based business. I need this DVD.
Sergers are wonderful doing basic sewing techniques but I wish to learn more advanced techniques and to use the decorative thread abilities of the serger. It makes a much more professional look to my designs.
I love my sergers. This seems like a wonderful resource.
this would be the proper companion to go with my new serger.
I'd love to win, because I have a serger, but I'm a little scared of it. I'd like to learn how and what to do with it!
My serger is one of my most valuable sewing tools, and I use it all of the time. But I know I haven't even begun to explore all of the things it can do. I've limited myself to using only the 4-thread stitch, and only doing garment construction with it. I'd really like to learn more, and doing so with a Threads DVD by Pamela Leggett would be a real treat. Thanks for this opportunity to enter the giveaway.
Server techniques... I need them. I know my serger has more uses than what I am using it for. Pick me, please
I enjoy my serger, but would love to learn more techniques, so I would use my serger more.
Who wouldn't love to win this serger prize?! Our group is looking for a new serger project book. This would be great.
I've had a serger for many years, but I feel it has so much more potential than my usual uses. I would love to have a DVD on basic and creative ways to use it.
I love my serger, but I know it can do so much more - sounds as if this is a great way to learn!
I use my four-thread overlock often, but have really not stretched my serger any further. Just think how I could make this machine hum by learning all its hidden secrets!
I would Sew love to have this DVD set! I use my serger with almost every garment, but would love to learn even more uses for it, especially decorative serging tip!
I have a serger that is sitting and collecting dust. I'd love to be able to use it to make garments for me and for my grandchildren.
OMG perfect timing, I just got the babylock Ovation and would really love to really use it to it's full potential
Pamela Leggett is a wonderful teacher. I have watched her do a demo class, but having a hands-on DVD with her teaching would be really terrific! Thanks for the contest.
Hello,
I presently do not own a Serger, but have been on the lookout. I somewhat find this machine a bit scary with all it's gadgets and spools of thread. So winning this DVD would definitely ease myself in knowing how to create the stitches I hope to use on my garments.
Thank you for having this giveaway. Good luck to everyone.
Best always,
MsMadisson

would love to learn more how to use my serger other than just finishing edges!
I sew adapted clothing for my disabled son. Learning more about how to use my serger would allow me to make more fashionable pieces.
I'd love to win this as I have a wonderful Pfaff server I bought to serge with but want to learn more than just edges. Please pick me! :)
I cannot get the whole serger thing and cannot find classes in my area....even took a craftsy class. Struggling :(
I've had my serger for over ten years and still only do the basics. I'd like to become adept.
I know a few techniques, but I know there is more it can do!
I'd love to learn more than the basics and utilize my serger by making so many more items than I can now. I like to make good use of what I have, not feel wasteful of the investment. Thank you for the opportunity.
I just bought a serger a few months ago. I am learning to use it. Tomorrow I will be taking a serger class from Pamela. I am so lucky she teaches near my house! What a great idea to have this DVD to remind me of what I forget. If you don't win it you should buy it!
Love to see new ideas with the serger.
I have a serger, but would love to know the additional ways of using this machine.
I have had a serger for a couple of years but I am always looking to do new techniques on it. I would love to have this DVD and learn some new things to do with my serger. I have always wanted to excel in learning more aboutmy serger that I do not know about.
I took classes through the local KY Extension Service with Master Sewers several years ago. I learned so much at these 3 classes! The DVD set would be a wonderful way to learn more on my own time which is limited now that I teach.
It would be nice to upgrade my knowledge of the serger. I have taken lessons years ago but haven't used the serger for a few years. I have a new grand baby and would like to sew for him.
I need this book to help me explore different uses of my serger, other than just a seam overlock stitch. Please consider me for winning a copy.
I am getting back to sewing after years and have recently gotten a serger. I never had one and am anxious to learn as much as I can. I have one grandchild and hope to have more to sew for as well as myself. I need to learn better and quicker ways of sewing then what I did years (30) ago.
I like Dvds. You can start and stop them.
I am a Serger Virgin with an BabyLock Evolution. I need all the help I can get. I still haven't found the stitch finger. On my other serger the finger fell out. I put it back in, and then had to buy an upper looper! Oh, my!
I'm in the market for a new serger and would love to see new techniques that will be possible for me w/the new machine. Hope I'm lucky this time !!
I love learning new techniques because it keeps me inspired. I serge most seams and use my coverstitch a lot but would love to know other ways to use my serger because it is so much fun!
I just bought a Jenome 5 thread machine last year and uneffecionately call it the beast. I have spent endless hours trying to thread it and do some of those amazing things it will do and could really use some help trying to figure the beast out. So far I've only done the overlock stitch with 3 to 4 threads and recently managed the rolled hem. I could sure use the HELP!

Pamela Leggett is special lady and a great teacher. I have been fortunate to be in her classes several times. I love the way her patterns fit and are easy to do with the serger.
Sue McCollough
What a wonderful DVD. You can never learn enough and having a DVD where you can go back and watch as many times as you need would be wonderful!
Pamela is a great instructor, would enjoy the gift of her dvd on serging.
Winning a DVD on serger techniques would be a real blessing. My serger is out of the box, but every time I think I understand how to do something, I find out I'm wrong. I need HELP!
I do have a serger but don't know how to use it for anything other than finishing seams. Need some major help to learn, learn, learn.
Would really like to improve my serger skills and this DVD would be a great additon to my learning
Looks like a great DVD!
I really want this DVD! I bought a serger 20 years ago and still have no idea what to do with it or how to use it.
I am new to serger machines. I just purchased a very nice 5-thread serger, and I kind of "mastered" the threading. But I still need to learn and master all the different techniques and ways to use my machine, not only to secure my seams, but to embellish my "creations".
I would be thrilled to win this DVD!
Thank you for giving us the chance.
I've owned a server for many years and use it regularly. However, I have yet to master all of the exciting techniques that a server can perform. This DVD would help me to use my server more creatively.
Would love to have this! I've just started sewing again and recently pulled out my serger. I've forgotten a lot and could use a refresher on it's use as well as new ideas.
Serging has great possibilities that I would like to explore confidently. Having purchased other Threads DVDs I know that the DVD series will be a great asset in smoothing my learning curve on my new serger.
I have a serger and need to learn more techniques and skills!
I've had sergers for decades, but have only used them as finishing machines. I'd love to know more techniques.
I would love to win this serger DVD for several reasons:
1. I just bought my first serger, a very nice Bernina, from a friend and would like to learn about it before I mess something up. Have used it a bit this summer but want to know more.
2. Granddaughters sew 4-H projects and we want to learn together how to make the most of our serger. I share mine with them.
3. After working since I was 14, I am finally retired and want to do so much sewing this winter when finished with gardening and preserving foods. I just need to learn more about how to do creative things with my serger.
4. I assist in weekly "come learn to sew" meetings and want to be able to help others use their sergers without being intimidated.
I received a serger for Christmas last year but have had no lessons. Frankly, I'm a little intimidated by it and would be thrilled to have the Serger Techniques DVD workshop.
I have a used, Toyota serger and do not know how to use it. I have an idea of the basic operation, but am ( for some reason) tentative. . A nice explanation of the workings and what all this wonderful tool can do would be so welcome.
thanks
Wyoming is a very special state to live in. However, it is not easy to find classes on specialized sewing and serging techniques. A dvd is my usual classroom. I'd love to win the "class on Serger Techniques".
If the DVD is like any of Pamela's classes it should be very informative--I attended one of her classes when she traveled to SC. I've had my serger for several years and still use it primarily for seam finishes. There are no sewing classes to speak of within 50 miles so it would be wonderful to learn all this machine could do. This would be a nice addition to all the other Threads DVDs in my collection and I do refer to them regularly.
Pamela Leggett's lessons are exactly what I need to get up and running with my serger. There is so much potential with techniques & finishes that I have never explored. Looking forward to learning more!
I've had sergers for many years. I took the class with my last serger and increased how much I do with the serger. I know there is much more I could do and this sounds like a good way to learn new techniques or learn some I may have learned years ago and forgot. Sounds good. I 'd love to win this.
I've been thinking of replacing my old hard-to-thread serger, which I rarely use. If I study these new techniques I'm sure I would get into learning all about sergers and make a better choice when selecting a new serger.
I have been sewing more and more with knits and now I think having a serger would be great. I would love to learn how to use one. Thank you for this chance!
I have been sewing since before Sergers were available, I learned to sew on a treadle Singer of my mother's and I still have it. I learned tailoring many years ago and a serger would be so nice to finish seams and so many other things to make my sewing look more professional. I have two jobs and need anything I can do to speed up my crafts. I have been afraid to buy a serger but perhaps with this DVD I can conquer another skill. I like to live to the fullest and learning how to use a serger would help me complete my Bucket List, including making clothes for the new Grand babies before they get too big.
This would be a great education tool for my 4-H club's sewing room!
This DVD looks like a great way to learn serger techniques from an expert.
Me Me Me, pick me!!! I use a 20 year old server. It does the job but I want learn more!
My last serger, a viking, had an screen on it that told me what to do. Now I have a new one, a Juki..and I am clueless! I can't even thread it correctly!
help!
The motor sounds nice..if only I could figure it out!
Have been serging for over 25 years. Now I have a new Baby Lock Evolution. I love it but so much too learn. And I need help. The serger techniques DVD sounds like a great way to shorten the learning curve and learn it right!
I want to fully utilize my serger, and this DVD would help me achieve this goal.
Oh I can't wait to tame my serger :)
Information is power!
Recently got a wonderful Evolution but as a newbie serger would really love some help and tuition in making friends with my serger.
Bought a Pfaff serger last year - still don't know how to use half of the features - want to learn more!!
I have Bernina 1150 MDA serger and having Pamela Leggett DVD would be wonderful.
I have seen Pamela Leggett articles in Threads magazine and she is wonderful teacher.
I know a lot about sewing machine operation, but little about how to get the most out of my serger. If I could just learn to master tension, that would be a milestone for me.
I'm sure I'd use my serger more than once a yr. or so and without the frustrations if I had a copy of "Serger Techniques" along with the visual helper of the DVD. I know it has many uses, and sitting in its zippered case is the least of them! Can you help me? Thank you in advance.
I use my serger for basic seam finishing most of the time.
Would love to learn more serger techniques.
Pamela is a wonderful teacher.
Like many of the above/below writers, I only use my serger to finish seams. I know there are many more uses but have not had the time to take a class. Having this form of training would be perfect for me.
I use my serger for basic sewing and I know it can do more ! I have one in my sewing room but am overwhelmed by how to use it creatively! I would like to know how to use it to better my technique, too. This video is meant foe me!
Wow! What a great contest! I would love to learn more about using my serger creatively - I've had my huskylock for nearly 5 years and it has never done anything except 4 thread overlock and a rolled hem. My machine even has coverstitch that I've never used! Please pick me. :O)
Serger techniques. Now there's a subject that I could definitely benefit having some instruction on. This DVD would be great to own.
Thread jams, a wish for a self threading machine or trying a technique like flatlocking and fail fail fail :(
I would love to win a copy of this DVD as I have not taken classes to fully learn all I can accomplish with my serger. Thank you for this opportunity.
What a shame to have a wonderful server and not to be able to fully utilize it.I would love to be one of those people with the knowledge and skill to complete an outfit almost completely on the server. I also want my knit outfits look professionally finished. Looks like this DVD might be the ticket. Thank you. :-)
I do love my serger, but I will shamefacedly admit I have never changed the threads that came on it. I *have* fixed them when they broke though, so I'll take SOME credit! ;-)
I would like to learn to do various types of hems on it. Thanks for the chance....
It would be great to learn how to do everything that my serger is capable of doing! I would love to be lucky enough to win this.
Serger Techniques is the DVD I desperately need! I want to move beyond just using my serger to finish edges!
I have ha a serger for several years and would like to improve my skills.
This would be so useful for me to upgrade my serger skills.
I really need Threads help and expertise to learn serging basics and special techniques. My terrific husband bought a very nice serger for me and I struggle with it every time in using it, even for basic 4-thread overlock. The tensions and how to tweak them, when to use 3, 4 or 5 thread overlock, and the best way to perform the coverstitch hem to look great and consistantly catch cut edge underneath. I end up going back to my 1970s Bernina in most cases.
Threads magazine has shown me basic and new techniques in every issue through the years. I look forward to reading each issues when it arrives. Thanks for a great resource.
C Keithline, Dallas TX
I've never used my serger to its full potential because I don't even know what its full potential is. I'd love to win this DVD so I can learn more about what it can do.
I have a commercial serger given to my by a family member. I am new to serging and could really use some guidance. This sounds perfect!! I hope I win!
I see so many different things done with the serger and would so love to learn more techniques. I don't have much $ but try to make things for giving and know that I could do even more using my serger if I knew what to do.
I received a serger for Christmas and would love to learn how to get the most out of it. Sergers are very intimidating at first.
Am 83 years young and have just purchased a serger. i need information for techniques.
I would like to win the Serger DVD because the proper use of the serger can provide so many options in moving my sewing to the next level. I still have trouble turning right angle corners, both internal corners and external corners. I would like to understand how better to set up my machine so that the stitches are perfect. I would love to be able to watch techniques again and again while I practice mastering them.
I feel the use of the DVDs will allow me a leap forward.
Thank you for consideration of my entry.
Lisa Schatz
I would love to win this because I am fairly new to my serger and would love to learn more tips, etc :)
Learning is my way of being inspired to try new things. I need to be inspired to use my serger. Thank you.
I should find this DVD so very usefull. Unlike in the USA there are very few classes in the UK to go to so we are dependant on distance learning. As you can immagin this becomes very expensave and affording the necessary resorces is difficult.
I had the pleasure of taking classes with and getting to know Pamela when she lived in CT. She is a very talented, creative and exceptional teacher and sewist. I would be thrilled to learn from her again and have the DVD as a wonderful memory of her. I also have much to learn about the serger so therefore would love to win one of the five DVDs.
Thank you for the opportunity to learn how to use a serger. I have one all I can do with it is to serge 2 fabrics together in a straight line. Hope I'll win. Thanks.
I have a new baby lock evolution and have been playing with all of the features and presser feet. I would love to learn more creative techniques from a pro!!
Please enter me in the Serger DVD giveaway.
My hubby bought me a Baby Lock Evolution for my birthday last year. I guess I should say, I compiled a few birthday wishes for that. ;) Having the Serger DVD would help with my tons of DIY projects with this great machine.
I've struggled with my serger foe years, This would help.
I've had a serger for two years, but I know I'm using it at its full capability. I'd love to wind this DVD so I can take full advantage of this great machine.
I have not had a serger that long, and could really use the book to get the most out of my serger.
I am always on the look out to learn more about how to use my serger. I know it can do so much more than what I know how to do with it. I want to learn more.
It's been so long since I've used my serger, that my skills are out of date. I'd love to have this to help me catch up
I worked with a serger in a costume shop 24 years ago -- I was hooked! I've been wanting to get one ever since (money), and I think this DVD would help me get going on getting one!
Fantastic! Would love to win...you can ALWAYS learn new things!
With a traumatic brain injury it makes it hard to remember a lot of things I use to do. With this DVD seeing it helps my memory a lot. I just want to get back into all of it again! It would help me to do that!
Thanks
stitchwichs/Traci
I got an Imagine two years ago. Beautiful machine! But I have been afraid to try anything beyond basic raw edge finishing or putting a simple rolled hem on a skirt. I am a busy mom of five kids-- I don't have time to go take a class! I know I could do so much more with my machine, but I don't know how.
By the way, I have been reading Threads for years. Thank you for your great articles ;)
Doing a lot of sewing and serging for grandkids and gifts and a DVD of techniques would certainly enhance my skills. Would love to know more.
Sergers are SO versatile, so many things you can do with the right instructions.
I am a frequent sewer and I serge all the edges I can because of the professional look. However, I would love to learn all of the other techniques I use my serger for. This would be the ideal opportunity to be more creative with different finishes and get the most out of my serger machine.
BB
I love my serger, but would love to learn more than just finishing seams and rolled edges!
This DVD would great for keeping up to date with new info, as well as learning new techniques. What a great addition to a classroom
I purchased a surger more years ago than I want to admit, but now that I am retired, I want to learn how to use my serger to its' full potential. I'm learning to design my own clothing and know that using the serger will make my clothes have a more professional look. Kasey E.
I would love to learn more about serging. I have a serger but am a bit timid about using it. It would be nice to learn how I can make things with it.
I use my serger to finish seams. That's it. The rest of it's abilities are to overwhelming to think about.
It will help me put my user to better use than just serging seams.
I love my serger and would love to learn more about it!
Oh my! If there is anything I need, it certainly is this DVD or more specifically I have a brand new serger sitting in the corner and I don't know what to do with it...the only thing I have done is two thread overcasting...I would love to find more uses for this expensive item....
what a great offer-thanks threads for the opportunity. it would be great to improve my skills with my serger- to go from just using it for seam finishes to so much more.
I just bought a new serger. My old one was 21 years old. Since my new one does so much more, I am trying to learn everything I can about modern sergers.
Love my air-jet threading serger, but am sure I don't know how to fully utilize the capabilities. Hoping this book will help!
physew writes: I have a serger and am using it for basic things like finishing seams and hemming tee shirts. I have seen some beautiful things people have done with sergers. I would love to learn how to some of these things.
I have Pamela Leggett's DVD on making a bias skirt, and I love it. It's very well done and easy to follow. Since I am interested in getting a new serger, I would love to have this new DVD on techniques.
I need all the help I can get. I finish seams, but I know there are so much more you can do on a serger. I will be getting a new one within the year, since the light is out and costs too much to repair.
I would love to win a Threads Serger DVD. I would set it up on my laptop beside my serger and oh what wonders I could create.
I have learnt so much from others of your videos. I would love to win this to help be become competent with my serger!
Helen Qld, Australia.
I know the serger has great potential but I lack the confidence to experiment. This DVD would help me.
Serger use is one area that has lapsed for me, The DVD set would be a great way to relearn this valuable skill.
I would love to win a copy of this series because I am constantly looking for ways to improve my sewing. Gaining serger skills is the next step. As a visual learner I think a DVD will benefit me more than a traditional book. This looks exciting :).
The videos are so helpful, and I watch them again and again!!
I need this DVD because I have three sergers that I can thread and sew a 3- or 4-thread seam, but nothing else. I am stumbling toward proficiency, and this DVD can straighten me up and get me to my goal.
The DVD would help me get more mileage out of my serger. Other than the basic serging, I don't anything else with it. Having the DVD, I will be able to practice what is being demonstrated.
I'm a sewing instructor and when I have a class with sergers I have just about every brand there is. Also I run into the novis to the experience person. I would love to win your DVD set to improve my knowledge from basic to advance and new techniques. I have subscribe to our magazine for over thirty years now and I have every issue and use them for research when getting ready for classes. These DVDs would save me a lot of time and more time in sergering!
Learning by watching is often easier than reading instructions - would be cool to set up the video next to my serger and get busy using some new professional-looking techniques that I know my machine is capable of !
I would love to win the dvd because I have owned a serger for over three years and have minimum idea on how to use it.
I have a serger and I don't know about all it can do. I have just used it to finish seam allowances, and I know that is a waste of a good machine. I really would appreciate the instruction on using it. Thank you for the chance to win this dvd.
Sincerely,
Carol
I have a serger that was given to me by a friend who bought it 15 years ago and never used it. I do not want to follow in her footsteps. I only know how to finish seams with. I know I can do a lot more, and watching on dvd and seeing first hand is so much more easier than reading the instructions. Thank you for the opportunity of winning this dvd.
My mom was an avid sewer and loved to sew all kinds of things from clothing to quilting and home dec. She had a dedicated sewing room in her home and it was filled with all manner of machines, gadgets, fabric, notions and Threads magazines. After my mom passed away I inherited the contents of her sewing room. In it I found some unfinished projects which I would love to finish for her. I'm slowly getting used to the many features of Mom's computerized sewing machine, but admit to feeling a bit intimidated by the serger. I would love to learn some serger techniques to help me finish Mom's projects and get started on some of my own!
This would help me to expand my use of my serger.
I have extra feet for it and would love to learn how to use them.
Although I use my serger for seam neatening and cover stitching, I know that it can do way more than this; I just need the inspiration. This DVD looks like it will provide that.
I use my Husky 936 all the time, but I'm kind of in a rut -- I do only one of two things on her! I'd like to branch out, and seeing something done helps me a lot.
(I hope this doesn't post twice) I love my Husq 936, but I'm in a rut and could use some inspiration!
I first got a serger in 1988 but it fell into disuse because of a busy life. I now have time to return to sewing and am sure that many new techniques and approaches for using a serger have been developed since I first started using one. The DVD would be great to help my re-entry to sewing again.
I have a serger but haven't had a chance to use it yet. This DVD would be very helpful!
I gifted myself with a serger when I retired but have not yet learned how to use it. I have begun a "very" small business recently of sewing doll clothes and selling them at local fairs. Knowing how to use my serger would be very helpful
in this sewing. I also want to use it for sewing up purses and new clothes for myself. Folks at a local fabric store have told me of all the wonderful things I could do with this machine once I learned more about how to use it. So of course I would love to win your DVD.
Thanks. Susan
There are days when I wish I didn't own a serger. There are times when threading it becomes an overwhelming chore and then it doesn't sew right. Tips on adjusting the pressure and serging those difficult areas would be great!
I have a serger but do not use it as I am not familiar with it. I zig zag instead but would like to know how to use it with confidence.
I learn & remember best by watching & hearing new techniques explained, so I think the DVD would be great to watch & then I expect the book would be a wonderful reference for the serging details.
I have a serger and almost afraid to use it. I could really use some instruction and this workshop would do the trick!
Why would I like to win this? I have a serger, but use it mostly for neaten up edges and sewing knits.
I am sure there is much more to it than just simple stitch. Right?
I would love to win the DVD, because i've got a serger, but i can't use it perfectly without learning new techniques. Back home in Germany it's quite hard to get good instructions to use the serger. I hope you can help me learning new ways to use the serger by sending me this DVD!
What a combo: serger, great teacher, and me alone in the sewing room! New ideas and projects will follow this private teaching time. Thank you for this offer.
I have owned a serger for almost ten years and I am still scared of it! I need a real or virtual teacher to walk me through how to make the best of it.
ai would love to have this DVD. I started ane teach a serger group because no store in the area was doing much on the ser ger. The club is doing well but I can use all the knowledge I can find.
I do not have a serger YET, but I plan to get one. Just once I would like to learn before I cause myself to have the longest learning curve in the history of time.
I am so embarrassed to admit this, however...I bought a serger way back in the mid 1990's and never learned how to use it. I tried a total of two times and then shoved it under the guest room bed. My husband told me if I win this DVD, he would buy me a new more modern serger. So, please please pick me.
I have a serger and when I want to use it, I pulled it out from under all my fabric and attempt to use it but I become very frustrated with it and end up putting it back hidden under stuff. HELP!!!!!!!
I have a Baby Lock Evolution Air Threader serger. I am so intimated by it that I keep it covered all the time. If I have more knowledge, I would not fear it so much. I have done some regular sergering with it. However, there are so many wonderful things I could do with it, if I could get clear instructions with photos to guide me step by step. The book that came with it confuses me as it seems to assume I already know certain things. To pay this much for a machine and to get no use out of it is like throwing money out the window as I drove home with it.
Hi;) last year I finally left an abusive relationship and decided at 29 (well, ok- 30 as of the 14th of September:( lol) that I would STOP living for everyone else and follow my DREAMS! Which were to become a fashion designer;) now- my grandmother kindly boughte a new Elna sewing machine but i could only afford to purchase a second hand singer dummy not an overlocker as well, but the beautiful lady i bought the dummy off literally GAVE me a very old overlocker she had been left by her mother whom has recently passed... (sorry- serger-we call them overlockers in australia) I'd never sewn before in my life and I'm doing my diploma of fashion design and technology online!-with very few resources! So THIS DVD would just help me SO, SO MUCH!
Thank you Threads!
Ps: I'm addicted to your magazine!!!!
Threads videos are the best. I would love to improve my serger techniques by learning from this DVD.
I have many knit, jersey and stretchy fabrics and sewing patterns in my home studio stash that require serger instructions and sewing techniques.
I would love this gift giveaway to sew beautiful inspiring creations!
Blessings!
From
Debra J Webb
I got a new Babylock serger last spring. I smile every time I thread it.
I am at the end of my sewing year challenge and thus would be a nice way to end the year. Oct 1 1012 is challenged myself to not purchase any ready to wear clothing for the year and to learn how to sew. Needless to say it has been a great learning year!

I've made a TON of napkins with beautiful serged edges, but there HAS to be more I can do with this great little machine. I don't read instructions well, but love to see someone else use a serger and learn from that.
After many years of using my serger for finishing seams only, I'm ready to take the plunge and really learn this baby. Also I am considering a cover stitch machine as I would love to know, how to hem T-shirts, dresses, etc.
I just purchased a singer pro serger, I 'd love to know more stuffs I could do with it.thank you
I bought a $900 serger 7 years ago and have only used it to make seams. I am intimidated by features instead of lavishing in them like I thought I would. I need instruction to help me. Now that I am not working as much as I was, I have time to learn the value of this machine so I can quit calling it the seam maker. I am really interested in the overlock feature and just need help.
This dvd is just what I need to get more from my serger.
I would love to give this to a friend. He's a firefighter, but he had an old sewing machine that belonged to his mother, and wanted to learn to sew. He got me to teach him what I knew. That went really well. He's the kind of person who never stops learning, so now he wants a serger. I can't help him with that, but this dvd could! So, I'm crossing my fingers. Thanks!
I would love to have this video, to properly use my serger!!!
I have just taken up sewing again after 30 years. The moe I play with my serger the more I wish I knew. My server is about 20 years old but still going strong probably as its only been used to do seam repairs. I'm now ready to cut loose and let my imagine run away with me. Just need some techniques and ideas on how to achieve this. The giveaway would be so handy,
I would love to be able to use my serger for more than just finishing seams.
Simply put, we would all love to have this lovely gift!
I just purchased my first Serger Machine, and finally after 28 years of patiently waiting, I just purchased a new sewing machine, I have been using the old Singer Sew-Fro (very basic) so know I am moving on up! Good Luck to all, and to all happy sewing...
I absolutely love my BabyLock Serger - but - due to illness haven't been able to sew for almost a year and have forgotten how to use my serger. I definitely need all the help there is, please? I think winning this wonderful set of instructions and techniques would be a dream come true.
I'd like to learn more about the capabilities of a serger. I can't do without the chain stitch while I try to fit a garment.
Now that I am retired it is such a rewarding thing to learn new techniques and methods of sewing. Got to keep the mind sharp and I love video examples.
I bought my serger about 12 years ago and still don't use it correctly. I need lot's of help.
Thinking about buying a serger...this would help.
I'm new to serging so a dvd would be really helpful for me to make the most of my serger before any bad techniques become habits! I have been looking at classes, but with a dvd I can go at my on pace and I can do it in my pajamas!
I can certainly use more tips on using a serger. I have one that I have used for years to trim off extra, serge seams, yet I have the need to master other skills that I so frequently see others sharing that they are doing with their serger.
I can run wild with my sewing machines but the serger, well I think I am a little "afraid" of what I could do in reference to ruining a project.
I would love to win this so I am more able to take advantage of my beautiful serger. Thanks!!
I'd love to be inspired to push my knowledge boundries. I've loved receiving every one of my issues of your magazine. I've presented a couple of classes to promote the usage of sergers to my guild. Many have stated they had never re-threaded their machine.
I inherited my mother's serger and have not been able to use it yet. I must say I am somewhat intimidated by it, nor do I want to mess it up. I see all the cute things you can do with a serger and I would love to sew some of these items for my precious grandchildren. This instructional information would be a lifesaver. Please pick me!
My wonderful MIL gave me her viking 5 spool Serger. I have taken 2 classes on sergers, but I still can't thread this machine. I am hopeing this video will incent me to learn the threading so I can use this wonderful serger!
I use my serger often, and teach classes in which serger use is required, but I know I'm not using my machine's full potential - or even anywhere that much. I would love to learn more techniques and move beyond the basics!
Love my serger but want to use it to its full capabilities!!!
After many years of sewing I finally have my first serger!! I would love the DVDs to aid me in demystifying it and bring a whole new dimension to my sewing.
I just do the basic tee shirt seams, and really should do some more to make use of this rather pricey machine.
