This sleeveless jumpsuit has a surplice, blouson bodice, symmetrical diagonal pleats at the center-front waistline, and palazzo legs. It is shaped with released front shoulder and waist tucks, back-waistline gathers, and hip darts. Extra ease is built into the waist to get in and out of the suit, which is cinched with a purchased belt. The few pattern pieces are unusually shaped because of the creative design. Marfy patterns provide no instructions and no seam or hem allowances. Adjoining seams are marked on the pattern pieces with corresponding letters. All the seams match perfectly. Any mediumweight woven fabric is appropriate for this design, although a good-quality jersey enables some stretch and holds the shape of the soft pleats and surplice closure. The sample garment is a stretch knit with Lycra from Banksville Designer Fabrics.
(Sized European 42-48 for busts 34.6-39.4 in. and hips 36.2-40.9 in.)
Style Tip: With few distracting details, this garment is worthy of that special print you’ve always wanted to use.
