McCall’s: 4424 Infants’ Dresses, Rompers, Panties and Hat
This delightful ensemble consists of a sundress, romper, panties, and a hat. The dress and romper views have a center-back placket opening and adjustable, crisscross snapon straps. The hat is self-lined and has six crown wedges, one of which has a casing with elastic along the ruffle seam. Our tester made the muslins in cotton fashion fabric (as shown), and asked us to donate them to charity after this review. She found the proportions fairly good, compared to her past experiences where many of the children’s clothes she made were too wide relative to their length. Since lengths aren’t given for the elastic insertions at the waist or leg openings, measure the child. For easy care, linen, cotton, and cotton blends are the most appropriate fabric choices. For special occasions, use a crisp silk.
(Sized Infants’ S-XL [6-24 months] for weight 13-24 lbs.)
Style tip: Constomize the hat with fabric bands, self-trims, appliques, bows, or purchased trim.
