Sewing Tip: Consider shaping the cuffs to match the collar variations and concentrating the back gathers into a single pleat.
This review was originally featured in Threads #175 (October/November 2014).
These classic, long-sleeve button-front shirts feature a comfortable fit with a 1-inch-wide center-front placket, front and back gathers where the bodice pieces meet the shoulder yoke, and cuffs with a continuous lap. There are three collar options that differentiate the views. The first option is a Peter Pan collar, which has curved ends that meet in the front; the second variation is a traditional two-piece shirt collar with pointed ends and a band; and the third view features a short, onepiece collar band. Our tester found that all of the seams and match points aligned, and the sewing process was moderate. Recommended fabrics include cotton and linen.
(Sized Misses’ 6-22 for busts 30.5-44 in., hips 32.5-46 in.)
