Silhouette Patterns: Nick & Zoe’s Best Selling Skirt 2913
This stylish, unlined, knee-length skirt flares to the hemline. It features eight gores; each is made from three pattern pieces-an upper section and two lower sections. There is an invisible zipper at the left side and fold-over elastic finishes the waistline. Alternatively, face the waist with 7⁄8-inch-wide petersham ribbon. Each envelope includes 16 pattern sizes, making the cutting lines extremely close together on the pattern tissue. Carefully cut the desired size, and make sure the seamlines align before sewing with the included 3⁄8-inch-wide seam allowances. Soft fabrics with drape, such as wool crepe, produce a slim A-line silhouette while fabrics with more body, such as denim, yield a bell shape.
(Sized 4-28W for finished hips 41-58 in.)
Sewing Tip: Use the many seams as an opportunity to alter the skirt’s fit.
