Designs of Downton Abbey

Threads magazine - 177 - Feb./Mar. 2015 Issue
Article Image
This article from Threads #177 (February/March 2015) by Threads assistant editor Dana Finkle showcases the incredible garment designs from Downton Abbey. Aside from being the most watched PBS drama in history, Downton Abbey has received a great deal of press for its Emmy Award-winning costumes. The show tells the story of a wealthy family and their servants, living on an English estate in the years leading up to and after World War I. As the show approaches its fifth season, the breathtaking designs are still in the spotlight – only now they’re available for public viewing. We’ll take a look at some of the show’s extraordinary costumes, recently on display at the Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, Delaware.

They are all lovely but nothing I am tempted to copy. I just love copying designer clothes.
