Basic skirts are easy to sew and fit, but it can be difficult to select a figure-flattering pattern. Why go through the trouble of sewing a pattern and realizing it’s not for you when you can create a custom style? I’ll show you how adding a contoured waistband to a basic skirt pattern can create attractive silhouettes for a variety of body types. For the purpose of this article, I’ve chosen four general figure types to illustrate how to create flattering skirts.
