    The garment and the band are top stitched or edge stitched after the band is in place?

      Hi! Yes, after the band is in place and the seam allowances have been trimmed, you topstitch the band and the garment close to the vertical buttonhole seam.     Is the 2 in strip 2 in after the 5/8 in is sewn on both sides or is the strip cut 2 in and then the seam allowance added
