Try a contemporary tunic designed by Sandra Betzina for her Today’s Fit line for Vogue Patterns. It is fitted through the bust and relaxed through the hips, features a mandarin collar, center-front zipper opening, lower side-front draped pockets with or without pleats, a small hidden pocket within the topstitched drape, a shaped hemline that is longer in the front, and optional long sleeves with a notched hem. This multisize pattern includes all 10 sizes. Some pattern pieces are printed with every size and some with just three sizes. To enhance the pocket detail, select fabrics with drape, such as rayon, silk challis, and gauze. For the view without the pocket tucks, a soft linen or cotton is a great-looking option.
(Sized Misses’ A-J for busts 32-55 in. and hips 34.5-57 in.)
Sewing Tip: The princess seams, side-front and side-back panels, and hemline darts offer opportunities to customize the fit easily.
