Simplicity 8058
A lot of style is packed into these pieces by Cynthia Rowley. The hip-length, unlined jacket has a raised neckline, an asymmetrical front, dropped shoulders, patch pockets, and a bound buttonhole closure. The hems and front edges are topstitched 1 inch from the edge. The bell-bottom pant with slim thighs has a wide, curved waistband that sits below the waist, and side-front pockets. Rounding off the ensemble is an above-knee, A-line skirt with a sailor-pant-style front. The skirt’s top edge sits 3-1⁄2 inches above the waist. The pant and skirt have waistband topstitching, center-front button tabs, and an exposed zipper at center back. Use scuba knit, double knit, or ponte for the pants. For the jacket and skirt, try brocade; lightweight wool, linen, or cotton suiting; denim; or twill.
(Sized Misses’ 4-20 for busts 29.5-42 in. and hips 31.5-44 in.)
Style Tip: Show off a novelty zipper in the exposed application on the skirt or pants.
