Simplicity 8655
This ensemble gives curves a streamlined look. Included is a tie-front blouse with extralong tails and wide, three-quarter sleeves with dropped shoulder seams. The pants have a high rise and a waistline that sits 2 inches above the natural waist. View A is a slim, ankle-length style; view B is a full-length bell bottom. Both views have a left-side zipper closure, back pockets, and front and back waist darts concealed in the pin tucks, which extend to the hemline. These long tucks give the pants a mock creased look. Our seamstress observed view B is very long and may need adjustment. Rather than using the tissue pattern to mark the tuck line on the fashion fabric, our tester recommends using a straightedge as a guide for more accurate results. This is not a difficult design to sew, but pay attention to the instructions for the tuck, as it should be a straight, centered line. Make the top from light woven fabrics to minimize bulk at the tied waist. For the pant, select a fabric with stretch, such as stretch denim or stretch cotton sateen.
(Sized Misses’ 6–24 for busts 30.5–46 in. and hips 32.5–48 in.)

Style Tip: Leave off the sleeves for simple cut-on cap sleeves.
