It’s summer and it’s hotter than a pepper sprout here in the Northeast. If a crop top is your way of beating the heat, then you can find a selection of patterns below for knits and wovens, in varying lengths and sleeve options.

Friday Pattern Company Saguaro Set

The Saguaro Set is a two-piece woven ensemble consisting of a pullover top with plunging V-neckline and elasticized waist pants with pockets. Deer & Doe Hysope Crop Top

This woven crop top has side button bands and two neckline options. Version A has a round neckline, version B (shown) has a V-neckline. Choose lightweight fabrics in cotton, linen, silk, or rayon. For a custom fit that minimizes drag lines on this cute top, consider draping the bust darts on the body. Stitch Witch Tudor Crop Top

We love this romantic summer blouse for beginner to intermediate sewists. The design can be made as a crop top or a longer version that reaches the high hip. The pattern offers several views: a front-button style; a back-tie version with low back V-neck; and a surplice style where the fronts wrap and tie at the back waist (shown). The short, puffy sleeves are elasticized over the shoulders and at the hems. The Camille is a loose-fitting cropped blouse with a curved, deep V-neckline. The front has two tie closures, designed to leave a slight gap at the center front.  The sleeves finish just above the elbow and are shirred to create puffy volume. The pattern is sold in women’s UK sizes 6 to 22 (bust 30 1/4 inches to 47 5/8 inches, waist 22 1/2 inches to 39 3/4 inches, hip 34 1/4 inches to 51 5/8 inches).

McCall’s M8257 

This reissued vintage 1976 sewing pattern includes a cropped cape-back blouse that ties in front, two other tops, a floor-length skirt, and wide-leg pants. The skirt and pants have elastic waistline casing. Choose soft, floaty wovens such as voile, lawn, or handkerchief linen. Sizes XS to XXL, which is approximately U.S. sizes 0 to 26 (for bust sizes 29 1/2 inches to 48 inches).
