Summer’s here and the time is right, for sewing up some new beachwear. It’s been a few years since I wrote my first Swimsuit Pattern Roundup, so I’m back to share some more great swimsuit sewing patterns. This roundup includes options, options, options—and a few accessories to match. Let’s get started.

Simplicity S9609
Elizabeth made her Simplicity S9609 in a gorgeous floral. This swimsuit is the perfect blend of flirty and sporty, though it may not stand up to heavy surf. The deep V and scoop neckline options have striking cutout and band details. Elizabeth modified the design by omitting the front band that crosses the deep V-neckline. The waistline seam, full-coverage bottom, and the fold-over elastic edges keep you comfortable and covered.
In U.S. sizes XS to 4X (bust 30 1/2 inches to 48 inches, waist 23 inches to 41 1/2 inches, hip 32 1/2 inches to 50 inches) and cup sizes A to H, this pattern allows you to create a swimsuit that fits just the way you like it.
FitiYoo Pink Lady
The Pink Lady from FitiYoo is a two-piece swimsuit consisting of a bra with two waist options for the briefs. This suit keeps you covered and supported, whether you’re lounging by the pool or swimming in the ocean. This swimsuit is available in U.S. sizes XS through 3XL with bra sizing 24 7/8 inches to 49 5/8 inches and briefs 29 1/2 inches to 51 1/8 inches.
Tilly and the Buttons Coraline
Here are more cheers for options. Whether you favor a sleek, one-piece suit or a trendy bikini, this pattern caters to your style preferences with multiple versions. You can choose a high or low back in the one-piece swimsuit, and between high or low waist bottoms for the bikini. The scoop neckline, adorned with narrow binding and straps, delivers a clean, polished look, while optional ruffles on the neckline and legs add a playful flair.
Available in U.S. sizes 2 to 30 (bust 30 inches to 60 inches, waist 24 inches to 53 inches, hip 33 inches to 61 inches), this pattern is perfect for boosting your swimwear sewing skills and creating custom pieces that make a splash.
Mixing & Matching with Helen’s Closet Sandpiper and Megan Neilson Cottesloe
One of the best things about sewing your own clothing is the flexibility to choose the patterns that meet your personal preferences for fit, style, and comfort. Ashley (of @ashleymakingthings) has charmed many this season with the matching beachwear she made for herself and her wife, Nickie.
Megan Neilson Cottesloe
A great classic pattern for one-piece swimsuits or mix-and-match two-piece sets, the Cottlesloe features athletic elements and four variations. View A is a one-piece swimsuit with low scoop back, shelf bra, and ties at the back. View B is a one-piece swimsuit with high scoop back. View C is a bikini top and a low-rise bikini bottom. View D is an athletic-inspired bikini top and high-waisted bikini bottom with wide waistband. All versions can be fully lined.
Available in U.S. sizes 0 to 30 (bust 32 inches to 56 inches, waist 24 inches to 48 inches, hip 34 inches to 58 inches).
Helen’s Closet Sandpiper Swimsuit Pattern
Sandpiper is a two-piece swimsuit pattern with a sporty top and two options for bottoms. The top features a high neck and subtle racer-back. The Sandpiper Swimsuit is lined and finished with swimwear elastic on the neck, arm, and leg openings. The Sandpiper waistband and top band are finished using fabric bands.
This pattern is available in U.S. sizes 0 to 34 (bust 31 inches to 62 inches, waist 24 inches to 52 inches, hip 33 inches to 62 inches).
Know Me 2037 Women’s Beachwear
Create a stunning look with this plus-size swimsuit pattern. The lined one-piece features a deep V neckline, princess seams, a halter strap, and an inside shelf bra for support. Pair it with the wrap-style cover-up, which has wide sleeves, angled seams, side pockets, and a belt. They’re perfect for a super chic poolside or beach look.
This pattern is available in U.S. sizes 16W to 38W (bust 38 inches to 60 inches, waist 31 inches to 54 1/2 inches, hip 40 inches to 62 inches).
Fibre Mood Augusta
I bought a Celtics-green, ready-to-wear dress that is similar to this and am in love with the style—so much so that I bought two other versions. Now I cannot imagine a summer without them. Luckily, if I get tired of the ones I have (or want the perfect fit and fabric), Fibre Mood’s Augusta dress is the ideal pattern for a breezy summer cover-up.
This shirtdress has a deep shoulder yoke, rolled short sleeves, collar with collar band, concealed button placket, and side seam pockets. Available in sizes XS to XXXL (up to bust 57 1/2 inches and hips 57 inches).
Burda Style 5807 Beachwear & Accessories
Get ready for your next beach day with this pattern for a beach mat, a swim tote, a beach poncho, and a small pouch for your valuables. Create your perfect beach companion according to your own preferences.

The Mule Tote by Kylie and the Machine is a project for sewists of all levels. It can be leisurely completed over a Sunday, or tackled in small chunks.
