2-sided fabrics with plastic

user-233309 | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

I am wanting to make cosmetic bags with plastic on the inside, but attractive fabric on the outside. Can you tell me where to find this? Do I have to combine my own?

I think you will have to make your own. One approach would be to use vinyl and sew the inside pockets and things from the vinyl. You could also look for the type of vinyl that can be fused to the fabric. I think there's one product from Heat n Bond, which I've seen at Jo-Ann's.

i agree, sew 2 layers of your choice. clear vinyl comes in various weights. to stabilize together, you could cut the inner layer a bit smaller and tape to outer layer. remove tape as you finish edges with a bias covering, rather than covering tape and encasing it; the glue may melt and get yucky with exposure to dryer heat or spilled cosmetic oils.
