I am feeling really dense now and have been working for 15 minutes on this hat with my new machine!!…..I am making the child’s hat that cames with one of the Polar Magic Sewing with Fleece Books….only problem is deciding how to attach the cuff from polar fleece onto the 4 panels….should I match wrong sides together and have the seam be on the right side with the cuff rolling up over it or should the seam be on the inside (wrong side) and the cuff doesn’t roll at all put lays flat? I guess if it was an adult hat I could try it on, but it a gift for a child and I don’t have the opportunity to check the fit. I returned the library book, but I don’t think she specified in the directions.

If I understand correctly you're deciding if the seam should be visible. I've made a few hats and would suggest that you put the seam to the wrong side and then topstitch it to the inside, so it isn't as obvious. Are you serging it or sewing it? Either one should work. Good luck!
On this style of hat, the seam is on the outside and is then covered by the cuff when it is rolled up!
Thanks for your help and comments. I used my new Janome 4800QC and the hat came out great. The next one definitely will be a 5 minute hat or else!!!
