I recently went to a party, and noticed a man wearing a necktie that had pleats in the front forming a chevron design in the fabric, and I think I had seen a similar tie on the back cover of a Threads magazine. Does anyone know of a pattern for this? I have made some seven fold ties in the past, and would like the challenge.
Any Ideas?

When I decided to try my hand at making a tie for my husband, I looked through some of my older Threads and rediscovered the pleated necktie photo. I tried searching for some type of pattern, but had no luck. All I was able to find was Jerry Walls' patent for the process. Did you draft your own pattern or buy one for the 7-fold tie? I tried drafting one, but have had difficulty in getting the folds figured out. It would be so much easier if only my husband had one for me to take apart! I guess I will have to buy the pattern after all! Please post info if you happen to come across a pattern for the pleated tie. I will do likewise.
