    With a good seam ripper,  carefully remove the pockets, pin them where you want them and sew them back on.  Then I woud throw it in the washer and it will probably fluff up and hide where the original stitching was.    Even if the original stitching shows, it will feel more like yours if the pockets are in a useful place.   Who is going to see it, but you?
