A suggestion

littlejs | Posted in Gather For A Chat on

Oh, I am so happy to have found this site.  I’m in heaven.  I am a widow and have spent too much time here in this house alone.  Sewing has always been my world and it is terrific finding women/men who love and live the joy of fabric.

I notice one thing as I read your posts that I would suggest.  Since there are so many posts, sometimes the added specific questions that are asked may be overlooked.  How about posting those on their own so everyone can help.  I’m delighted to be here, what a blessing.  Thanks Kate of littlejs

Welcome, Kate!  We are also delighted that you're here - you sound as though you must have considerable experience to bring to the discussions.  What's new in your sewing room today?  :)

    Welcome Kate,
I answered a question from you and didn't realize you were new. I love reading these discussions. There are some very smart people on this site. Look for their suggestions on other websites, also. They keep me entertained and I learn so much. Check out http://www.patternreview.com. I love their pattern reviews. Some, you can look at without having a membership. Hope to talk with you a lot more in the future!

A suggestion to get you out of the house and endulge your love of sewing with others of like minds.

Contact your local school system, community college system, or senior center, and find out what classes they have that might interest you. Some are just sewing groups that construc quilts, bags, stuffed animals such as teddy bears, and other utilitarian items for distribution to local charities.

You will have the fun of sewing and the social interaction of women (and occasionally a man) who have like interests.

That is a wonderful idea, thank you so much.
