Abrasive Resistant Coating

I am interested in some form of plastic coating for the laces on my hockey glove. The pavement is wearing on the threads. Is there anything I can apply?

Wow, that's a good one Neil. I have no idea what you can apply to the laces to make them stronger.
Let's hope someone has a suggestion.

However, I can tell you what I did to rectify a similar problem. Last year I bought some plastic sandals to wear when gardening. I can throw these shoes into the washing machine and they come out clean. I have wanted to replace these since they are wearing out but I can't find new ones (I wear them everywhere because they are so comfortable). I tried to repair them by sewing the splits on the sides using a used nylon guitar string and a curved mattress needle. The nylon wore away quickly with the abrasion from pavement. I then sewed the tears with a used METAL guitar string and the shoes are holding up beautifully! The metal guitar string seems to be very resistant to wear. Perhaps you can use some old metal guitar strings to lace your gloves. Who knows, it might work.
