Advantages of 8 thread serger

user-7815896 | Posted in Sewing Machines & Sergers on

Hello! I would appreciate if someone could explain the advantage of owning an 8 thread serger. I currently own a JUKI MO-2000 and a JUKI MC-1700 and the only difference I can see is that my two machines allow me to overlock with 4 stitches and coverstitch with 2 stitches. Whereas a Babylock 8 thread would allow me to also overlock with up to 4 stitches and coverstitch with up to 3 threads. Is that the only difference as far as end result? One extra coverstitch line? Thank you!
