Hello, Gatherites (or Gatherers?)

Dr. Mark, our dear sysop, has suggested that it’s time to shape up the Gatherings discussion group.

Apparently, Gatherings is getting flabby, bogged down by excessive threads on the main page. So I’ll be creating a few new folders to hold the questions that don’t seem to fit anywhere else, like one for General sewing techniques, one for just plain visiting, and one for comments on Threads magazine; maybe also one for Machine embroidery and threads. I also plan to give Quilting and Knitting their own folders, as requested awhile ago.

So you’ll see me doing a little cleanup in the next few days. If you have trouble finding a discussion that you want, try going to the folder that makes the most sense (and I hope that my ‘logic’ is in sync with yours….)

One possible side effect: Moving threads around may cause them to appear as “new” for you. I know this will cause some havoc with the “Check Messages” function, but there’s no way around it. We apologize in advance.

In exchange for this hassle, I hope you’ll have a better, more streamlined experience at Gatherings.
