Another Jacket Finished

rodezzy | Posted in General Sewing Info on

Made another jacket last night.  Needs topstitching and then I’ll send pictures.  Here’s a picture of the fabric that I made it from.  Its a very soft, fine corduroy, in a very deep purple over cream.  Actually I will need a soft, lightweight, long sleeve cream top to wear under it.  A mock turtle neck will accentuate it.  You can’t just wear anything with this coloration.  I’m going to knit or crochet a cream scarf to wear with it.  These jackets are for the fall season, when you just need a topper and not a coat.

You are sewing up a storm! Love the fabric! Making my slow progress seem like slow motion! Never did get to the sewing room yesterday, life interceded! You are gonna look great on GREY Colourless Fall Days. Cathy

Thanks, I need to topstitch it and put on one button, then I can take pics.

The sleeves have a pleat in them, but because of the print in the fabric, you can't really tell.  Thinking about some kind of embellishment that will emphasize the sleeves.

How about sharing the pattern company & number; this way we can all visualize what you are doing.  BTW, I am so busy keeping up with you, Rodezzy, and that is my "excuse" for not getting my own stuff done.  giggle giggle

Oh my, Rodezzy; that is just darling.  You are too much, lady!  I do not see how you do everything you do; full time job, all of your charity work, sewing ...not only for yourself but for your grandkids, and your church projects.  I know we've all asked you before, but ...do you ever sleep more than 3-4 hours a night?  Or maybe you are just an angel disguised in a human body!  Amazing ...you are just amazing.

And ...I love the pattern.  Very chic!

Stop the Presses.....sewslow67.....I don't do all of that.  No church projects, twice a year charity, sparce sewing projects with grands.  Full time job..yes..Quilt Guild...yes....so most of my time is my own, unless I give myself other projects for others.  Like Holiday gifts.  And sometimes I don't get those done.

So, lets put me in perspective....giggle....I'm by no means a superstar or amazing, nor an angel.  Just a little busy at times.  Enjoying my sewing more and being challenged more through my association with all of you out there.  From all over the world.  Like I've said...I get on roll and off I go.  And since I've been on these threads, I've been more encouraged in my sewing.  Thanks to you guys for that.

Yes...Right now, there is a lot going on with me.  But not THAT much.  giggle.  You guys out weigh me by a ton.  Your work is more detailed, professional and thorough than mine, especially in the clothes sewing than me.  I'm just a pea in a bowl a soup compared to the sewing I've seen in these threads.

I appreciate and love the inspiration and encouragement I've found with this group, but please don't swell my head.  I know my limitations and am gently challenged by you all.  I love the comradere and kind words.  But I'm not amazing nor angellic.  My hat is off to you, some real professionals in sewing.  Thank you for teaching me.

I'll be off work tomorrow, talk to you all on Monday....if heaven agrees.
