Anyone know about Talcony buy out?

I have a girlfriend that emailed me yesterday, she lives and works in Japan. In the buisness section of their English paper, she found a small blurb

“Talks are on going between Viking Sewing Machine Company of Sweden and Talcony Inc.Viking is seeking to buy out their sewing machine division.”

That would mean that Viking would end up owning Elna,NewHome/Janome,Simplicity,and maybe more?Anybody else know anymore?

My ds just came back last week from a director's meeting and said the same thing.I tried to tell the people at sewingworld but go ran off by some dreadful people.:( As far as she was told, the dealers won't know a thing about it until after it happens, just like the Pfaff buyout was.Unless they read this.

Viking is supposed to colsolidate the NewHome/Elna line no one, like Talcony hasn't already, then will ship the lower end(under$1000 machines) to the plants there to be produced. That is the plan she was told about fo now.
