Hey everyone,
I’ve fallen in love with a fabric shown on Vogue 2900 (the stripey floral) and I’m wondering if any of you can recommend a way of tracking it down? I thought maybe the Vogue Patterns issue would list it, but no luck.
Thanks,
Kristine

You could write to Vogue and be surprised. I am quite encouraged by the responses I get which at first sight may appear bizarre. I will give you an example. I found a beautiful picture of lake Jasper (Canada) for a possible watercolour painting on the front page of a catalogue. I sent an email to the catalogue printers and was kindly sent the photo.
Vogue 2900 is a Donna Karan pattern; it's likely that they use her fabric, too. It's hard for a consumer to get access to a designer's original fabric, but the major manufacturers will start making very similar knockoffs very soon after the designer shows it for the first time. Maybe check out DK's collection for more information?
Try Banksville Designer Fabrics, in Norwalk Connecticut. They have a lot of designer cuts; they do mail order swatches; and even if they don't have that exact fabric, they will likely have something similar. Their inventory is amazing!!
Good luck!
