I know I saw a short video clip on applying stretch trim somewhere. I cannot seem to find it again. I have some narrow flat lace that I’d like to put on a neckline. (Its not the foldover trim). I want to just sew it on, fold over the edge and topstitch the fold down.

I'd cut the stretch lace about 1" shorter than the piece you're sewing it to. Pin both ends and gently stretch to fit as I sew. Then fold over the edge, turn and do the same on the other side.

Thanks- I had no idea how long to cut the lace. When you say do the same on the other side, do you mean after you've folded the edge back (so that the lace is is peaking out from under), you again gently stretch as you topstitch?
I think that I stretch again when I stitch the second time because now the fabric is has been gathered/eased up from being stitched to the lace the first time. Does that make sense? I'm trying to visualize what I do automaticly when I do it. But I know that I don't over stretch the lace/elastic when stitching it onto woven or knit fabric. And the fabric shouldn't be stretched, only the lace to fit the fabric.
