Are photo transfers on fabric washable?

I’m wanting to put her cousins photos on my version of an”I Spy” nap quilt for my g.daughter. When I went to purchase the special fabric for my inkjet printer the packages read “No washing” and “Dry Clean”. Since this is for a 1 y/o I need “washable”! Does anybody out there know something that might help?

that's not really the right technology to use for something that requires lots of washing. an older threads has info on making sunlight-developed images directly onto fabric. requires special chemicals, possibly never would be safe for child handling.
you could experiment with coating with a clear polymer and see how it wears and washes.
possibly go with the product you have but just be prepared to do it over again as needed.
On a recent America Sews program, I think 2305, there was mention of three kinds of printable fabric--two of which were washable. Somewhere I have a link to a fabric site that specialized in printable fabrics, picked up from a previous Gathering discussion. If I locate it, I will send it along. Or someone else checking in might know and post it. Z
Here's the site. It has printable fabric of all kinds. Hope you find something. See: <http://www.colortextiles.com> Z
