   Where are you located? what do you mean by legitimate? There are many very good design schools, anything from FIT to the local community college (which is what I went to). There are also 4 yr programs at many universities.

   Any design program affiliated with an accredited university or junior college is legitamate. There are hundreds and google can be your best friend in this search.

   Have you done any searches for schools in the Detroit area? There is a school in Troy that offers fashion design.

   Hi Hawwaa09!  There is a pattern company called CJPatterns (Christine Jonson Patterns) that offers classes.  I'm not sure the classes extend beyond sewing technique but they may get into some draping, etc.  The website is http://www.cjpatterns.com/classes.html if you are interested. 

   Did you find out the name of the school in Troy?  I don't live in Michigan right now but will be returning in a few years and I'm curious.  Also - if you do end up finding something in Michigan would you let us know?  I intend to take a class from CJ Patterns when I get back and would be interested to know not only how the classes are but what else is available in the Detroit area.
