Australian subscribers – Sewstylish

susannah_sews | Posted in Feedback on Threads on

Hi

Have any australian subscribers received their final subscription issue of SewStylish yet?  It is on the sewstylish blog, and advertised as being available as a back issue, but mine hasn’t arrived yet.  I don’t want to start hassling customer support if this issue is still in transit.

Cherrypops, you are a regular gatherings poster – have you got yours yet?  It looks quite good.

cheers

Susannah

    Hi susanna,

Yes I received SewStylish Embellishments (number 3 is written on spine) Winter 2007. Haven't looked at it properly, been so busy with final week of school.

I contacted CService to check how many issues I had remaining when i read of the discontinuation of subscriptions. I ordered from issue 1 so i was to receive all issues.

If yours doesn't arrive email CS at least you know for certain the situation and you have a record of it.

    Hope it does arrive soon.

      Thanks, Annamarie

I will send them an email.  How long ago did you get yours?

i noticed the new one was out on the website Nov 30. I can't say how long it had been there...I received mine shortly afterwards.....about a week ago.

According to CS I have one remaining issue after this one.

Then i will have to track future issues down thru Borders at Macquarie Shopping Centre NSW or order online.

Yes, I recieved my copy at the end of last week. I see it is still going to be published but not available on subscription. I hope I will be able to get it at the news agency.

    Cheers, Mary

      Hi there,

You don't say where in Australia you are from.

      Does your newsagency stock Threads?

It may be just a matter of asking them to supply a run of SS as well.

That's what I will be doing at Borders Bookstore Macquarie Centre NSW. They import a good range of magazines.

        Hi

My copy of Sewstylish arrived in the mail yesterday. Have only had a quick scan through - but it looks quite interesting. It is a pity it that it will no longer be available through subscription.  I initially took out a subscription to Threads because the two newsagencies where I bought it would sell out very quickly.  Only one of them has stocked the copies of SewStylish, and only a few copies, which sold out quickly.  Borders doesn't have a shop in Hobart, and while we have some good bookshops, they don't sell magazines.

Hope you have a great Christmas,

        regards

        Susannah

Thanks for the update...I don't know why but the past two days I haven't received my email notifications from this forum.

It is dissappointing SS will no longer be on subscription.

Would it be possible for your newsagency to put a copy aside for you when there shipment comes in?

One of my most favorite cities in the world---you're a lucky duck to live there!

FYI---we have a two new issues under our new brand CraftStylish, both due out in Feb. One is Quick Stuff to Sew and it's very SewStylish-like--all of you would love it. The other is Creat Your Home: Decorating, which has great home dec sewing info along with lots of other home dec stuff.

Thanks Amber, Sydney is lovely espceially the east coast.

Elle McPherson "The Body" was at our beach yesterday doing a promo shoot for Invisible Zinc Sunscreen for America, she and her boys are holidaying at Palm Beach, and seen shopping at Avalon surf shops. She grew up down South, and still looks great in her tiny bikini at 44.

            Unfortuantely I didn't see her.

I did receive the email regarding CraftStylish..looks nice.

Yes, we've had so many requests to cover knitting and quilting, etc. that this is our solution!I loved Bondi Beach! I was there writing a honeymoon article for BRIDE'S magazine---very romantic city!

So that's where the knitting etc articles have gone!...What a great idea....Keep Threads for Sewn Garments, bring in the Couture experience, and embellishments every so often. SStylish blog for those who are beginners or need a brush up on techniques and get new ideas.

A very well thought out process to suit everyones' needs. Well Done!

      Hi Amber

My Sewstylish arrived the day after I posted my query.  I think it must have been a few days (possibly up to a week) behind the copies received by other Aussie subscribers.  The mail system here is pretty good, and even though distances are pretty big, there is not usually this sort of delay, however the Christmas period puts a strain on deliveries.  Having said this, a few extra days is nothing in the scheme of things!

I haven't had much chance to go through this issue in detail - but I am quite attracted to the stamping/stencilling ideas.  The Ericson designs have always intruiged me - and I really like that the results look stylish rather than amateurish.

So, from this Aussie subscriber, thanks, and keep up the excellent work!

      Merry Christmas

      Susannah
