Babylock Embellisher

dayenu | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

after doing research, I brought home the babylock  ( i compared the husky star, the janome, the fab felter and the BL) and started playing with it yestersay. It is amazing and the perfect medium for what I like to do. The closest thing to it is painting and you can get soft or really brilliant effects.

For example I took some pale gray dupioni and felted some hand dyed blue wool roving into part of the surface , adding more till I got the color intensity I wanted and then added some tiny ribbons of darker blues and silver thread. the effect is beautiful.

If you are into precision, it’s going to frustrate you but if like the spontaneity of painting with water color or dyes, it is a wonderful addition to the embellishment department. the next post has of my fooling around with small scraps.
