Backing patterns

I read somewhere that tailors “back” patterns before cutting to make them stable. I’m thinking of doing this when I’m making jackets, etc. How do i do this? What do I use?

I have ironed on some cheap ($1.00 package) iron on pellon interfacing to the patterns that I use a lot. It keeps them from tearing and also holds them to the fabric so I don't have to use as many pins or pattern weights.

    Chris.
