   This bag is sharp! I noticed in one of the responses that the writer was thanking you for all of your tips. Where is that discussion to be found. Too, I want to know where you found the tooled faux leather that was used. You make me want to try a bag similar to this. I'll have to look up my mailers to see who it is that has purse findings on sale :->.  Wanda

I got the faux tooled leather at [blush] Walmart. I go to Walmart once maybe twice a year. I never see any fabric or much else that I would give you two cents for. But this day this tooled leather look was folded up in the pile and I nearly hyperventilated. It jumped into my cart and forced me to take it home. I have been back since but it is gone. I still have a good chunk but should have bought the whole bolt. It is really nice and you would swear it was real. solo

   Unfortunately, I had to laugh at your description of Wal Marts sewing material. I happen not to be a big WalMart Fan. I'm a shopper, but I don't like the bigness of stores like that, and malls. Perhaps it's the intimacy and personalized attention that I like when shopping, as well as not being followed like I'm the thief of the year, which is what I get at the former type stores.

   I too wish you would have bought the whole bolt. Perhaps, you will find it again.

   Now, I will go read the postings that you referred me too.

   Summer and Stitcher, the bag is McCall pattern 4400. I've done a few things that aren't in the pattern. The bag calls for a tie closure in between the handles. I thought that looked rather homeade and did a magnetic clasp instead which I installed on the lining pieces before attaching the lining to the bag. I also added to the bag the pencil pocket and the key leash. I did heavy fusible interfacing on the bags and sometimes fusible fleece as well. I also fuse my lining fabric with Armo Weft, which I REALLY like. Hope this helps you both. You can do this. It is simply straight lines. It can get bulky but you can handle it I am sure. solo

    On another post you had a bag with handles that curled up on the ends.  I loved them!  Do you have a supplier of notions that you particularly recommend?

   Believe it or not, I get all the hardware at Joanns. They have loads of handles and hardware in their notion area. All the bag stuff is together. It is often on sale, too, or you can use the coupon. I have looked into ordering on line but haven't found it necessary just yet. I would like to get some feet. Joanns doesn't have those. They are pretty pricey too, and then you add in shipping and its just too much. I still think there has got to be a way out there of using an upholstery tack or such. solo
