I went to the store and saw what entredeux looked like and decided to
skip that part because that would add hours of time into the baptismal gown. I just was going to sew the gown conventional. Well, I’ve gotten into the project now and I’m finding out that taking a pattern and directions designed for heirloom sewing and trying to sew conventional from them is VERY hard to do.
The big thing is trying to maintain the correct size because the seam allowances are designed purposely small because the entredeux is like a hinge between the cloth pieces. Live and learn, I guess.

You can buy entredeaux by the roll, this will give you the heirloom look without the time necessary to create all the stitches yourself. And solve your time and size problems.
