My DS wants to buy some electric scissors for me. I have looked at some at home stores and at fabric stores. I am interested in weight and sturdiness. I will cut all kinds of fabrics. Are the “tool” ones better than the “sewing” ones? Thanks in advance for your help. Galey

I got the Black and Decker cordless from my DH and they are like BUTTER!
I can cut as many layers of anything and they still are wonderful! I also have the electric scissors that came out about 2 years ago (I forget the brand) and they really are terrible. The battery was shot almost immediately and the only way I can cut anything thick (like corduray) is very slowly.
Let your DS get you the Black and Deckers. You'll Love them.
Thanks for that report. I've got my money in my pocket and I'm on my way to Lowe's. Galey
Do try them out on fabric scraps before you buy. Although I can say that I did do that, I find that for anything more than a few quick cuts, I don't use them. The vibration drives me nuts....I can feel it all the way up my arm. This is something I didn't notice when I was testing them, so be aware.
Hand fatigue from shears is preferable, for me anyway. ;-)
