blind hemmers

DK123 | Posted in General Discussion on

I am in the market for a portable blind hemmer machine.  Can anyone recommend a brand that would be good.

Are there any comparison places?

A fabric shop nearby said they can sell me a Tac Sew T500 for $399 (plus tax).   Is that a fair deal?

Is TacSew a good quality? Are there others that are good quality?

Thanks

I have The Blind Hemmer made by Tacony. I paid about the same for it. When it works, it is wonderful - it depends on the fabric - and it does work most of the time. I have learned how to mess with stitch tensions quite well. I have had to ship it back to the company twice for repairs - it is impossible to do anything other than change the needle by yourself. But I love having one and it has paid for itself many times over.
