Tne bog coat is a one seamed coat - the seam goes from cuff to cuff and across the front of the coat. It is named "bog coat" because a prehistoric one was unearthed in a bog in Scandinavia.
Balenciaga also did a version of this coat. For more information, and the sources of my information, there is a book called Bog coats or atleast had the name somewhere in the title. There is also a terrific book by Virginia Avery called "Wonderful Wearables" that has a discussion of the history as well as a good diagram for making one.
The bog coat is a cool concept (Cut one piece of fabric to make a coat) but often looks clunky in reality. Last weekend tho I was at a high end craft show here in New York City, one exhibitor made lovely bog coats out of hand painted silk. She curved all the edges before binding them. It was a really pretty detail.
Hope this was helpful

*thanks so much for your excellent answer! I'll now know where to look for this design. I appreciate your response.
*This site has instruction and diagrams for a child's bog coat called Heartwarmers, it was donated by the site (Shirley Adams' Sewing Connection) to be sewn for schools and homeless shelters for children who are in need:http://www.sewingconnection.com/sc12hart.htm
