bridal accordion pleated over-skirt
Hi All: I am trying to get my head around an accordion pleated over skirt on a wedding gown, I am planning to make.Do you make the skirt first and then have it pleated (where is this done?) or do you make a tube from already pleated fabric. the pattern is an a-line, empire waist, strapless. I hope someone has some helpful thoughts!

I had material pleated then used it to make skirt.
I cannot remember where I sent fabric. However I live in UK so name probably wouldn't help anyway.
Good luck

Last year there was a beautifully pleated train made by someone here. I believe you can find it if you search. She pleated it herself. Wish I could remember better who did it or the post it was listed under. Cathy
I pleated the train for a wedding gown last yr. Even I can't remember what I posted it under, but I think it was about fan pleating, although I later learned that it was called sunburst pleating. It was very time consuming and frustrating at times. There was a listing in an earlier Threads magazine about a place that you can send your fabric out and have it pleated. I didn't have the time nor did the bride have the $$ to send it...so I just figured it out. If you can figure out how to PM me, feel free to do so. I'll try and help if I can.

I just figured out how to find prior postings that I've made. Here are links to the ones I put up about the pleated wedding gown train. Hope this helps.
