Has anyone ever bought a machine on eBay? I have seen machines listed as ‘new in box.’ I am wondering how the warrantee works in this situation? Would the seller have to send along the original receipt?
I am also afraid to spend a large amount of money on an eBay purchase, even though I know several people who have actually bought cars on eBay…
Any thoughts? Are there major drawbacks that I’m not thinking of? Thanks for any input.

I have purchased several machines on Ebay, all with good results. I make sure that the seller has a good repuation. Be patient and wait for the machine you want. New machines come up daily and you can usually get what you want, in the condition you want, for a reasonable price.

I bought a treadle machine on Ebay, It was not packed properly and came all broken up (the case for it). I had spent quite a bit of money. I wrote to the seller, and he was supposed to have contacted UPS to pick it up and start a claim as it was insured through UPS. To make a long story short,(the seller would not respond to my emails) I ended up filing a complaint with Pay Pal, that got things moving instantaneously, I got a full refund of my money within about 12 hrs of contacting Paypal.
