Go to http://www.sewingworld.com and read the New Home folder. There are some people who post there regularly who have bought from this dealer. I think they are reputable but I haven't bought from them myself.

*I've placed two orders with them, one for a machine and the other for an embroidery card, and have been totally satisfied. As a retired purchasing agent, I thoroughly researched my purchase first, checking prices with local dealers as well as with 4 or 5 online vendors. Sew Vac Direct had the lowest price, delivery was right on time, and customer service was fast and friendly. Barbara

*To Flo: I just placed an order with them today. So I will let you know how it goes. Just some helpful info, I purchased a serger from them through Ebay. So check out what they have on Ebay first. It can save some $.

*Anyone ever ordered anything from allbrands.com?

*I almost purchased an embroidery-only machine from allbrands, until they quoted their shipping charges. That made the machine significantly more expensive, and I bought from shoppers rule at a substantial saving.

*I had exactly the same problem, Judi. Once I saw what the shipping charge would be, they no longer had the best price.Since then, I've tried to purchase memory cards from them but I couldn't view all the designs. (I'm using Netscape.) I e-mailed them twice, asking for help, but have never gotten a response.

*Judi, where'd you eventually get your machine? Did you get it on line?

*yes, I bought my embroidery only machine on line from shoppers rule. I've shopped there before and been happy. by the way, another really good online source (for supplies) is discount embroidery supply (i don't have their url handy, but you should be able to find them with any search). They include shipping in their already-good prices, even to Canada. Excellent service and good quality products. i sound like a salesman! (not)

*I've done allbrands.com a couple of times, and I've always been pleased. I guess I thought shipping costs were generic, so I never paid attention to it.

*how about thecraftystitcher.com? has anyone ordered from them? their website says to call them, i guess to find out pricing, etc. are they reputable? seems like everywhere i read people are bashing buying online.
