I’m trying to find black pleather or other shiny raincoat type of fabric to make a Matrix halloween costume from. (duster, pants, etc.) Any suggestions of on-line places? ANy fabric substitutions for pleather? It must be shiny!

Are you making Trinity's outfit? How about PVC? I've seen it online at Mendel's Far Out Fabrics and on eBay. I haven't ordered from either Mendel's nor that particular eBay seller, so I can't vouch for the quality.

Yes. I was going to do something that was just okay but saw the Trinity pattern and decided to do it. Thanks for the leads! I'll let you know how it goes if I go through ebay or Mendel's.
Have you considered the iron on plastic material that one fuses to the desired fabric , in this case something black? It may be an option to consider especially for a costume. Or perhaps spraying a shiny finish on regular vinyl, like spray poly or armorall, something like that.
