I am curious to know more about sewing for different charitable causes. I am familiar with sewing for “Preemies” for a local hospital, but I am wondering what some of the other options are. I am thinking about this as a mission for our church and also as a way to teach young children to sew and make a donation. Thanks!

If you go to the top left of this screen under the purple oval labelled 'Start', there is an ADVANCED SEARCH option. If you double-click, you will be presented a screen that looks like the following, so that you can search this topic on Gatherings. There are several items discussed - hope this helps.

Over the years I've been aware of two other worthy charitable sewing needs. One is hats for women cancer patients, the other is called something like "AIDS quilts" for children who have the disease and need something comforting to cling to. Hope this helps. If I can locate my info on these I'll reply again.
