Chicago Fabric Stores???

I am going to be in Chicago on business….but being a true fabricaholic need to check out the fabric stores. Any suggestions? It needs to be close to Public trans and I will be staying at the Drake hotel I think.

Places with good prices and unusual selections are my faves.

Vouge Fabrics and Fishmans are both good places to visit in the City. Look them up in the phone book for addresses when you get to town, I live downstate and get there by landmarks and memory so I'm no help with the addresses. They are located about 1 block apart.
    Have fun.

*For public transport to the Vogue and Fishman stores (both on Roosevelt Ave) take the Red line El to Roosevelt, exit, then take a bus WEST on Roosevelt to just before the expressway (tell the driver that, I can't remember the street but it is just about 1 block before the expressway overpass). Vogue gets mill ends from designers and has very good prices. They have a sale on now (late june 2001)There is also a branch of Vogue in Water Tower Place, just a few blocks down Michigan Avenue from your hotel. It is more of an upmarket store, very fancy and expensive fabrics.
