Chicago Sewists

Heathace | Posted in General Discussion on

I am interested in getting the most recent Burda magazine, but I am not ready to buy a whole year’s subscription.  Is anyone aware of a place in the Chicagoland area that I can just buy 1 magazine?

    Hi Heather,

I too am looking to buy the most recent issue as a single copy.  I have been to Barnes and Noble (Jackson and State) and to Borders (Michigan) with no success.  I tried to do a web search, to no avail.  If I am successful I will certainly pass the information along.

Meanwhile, I did go ahead and subscribe.  It was a little intimidating to make such a financial commitment; but enough people have blogged about how wonderful the patterns are.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I contacted Haberman's and they do have it in stock and they can ship it to us.  It is 9.00 plus shipping 5.99  So I am going to call them back and have them ship it to me.!!

To everyone else, thank you for helping me out!!

        Hi Heather,

Thanks so much for the heads up.  I thinks I will give them a call later today.

        Take care.

I purchased my first copy from Haberman's Fabrics in Detroit while visiting their store after the Novi Sewing Expo 4 years ago - been hooked ever since!. It might be worth a phone call, (248) 541-0010 or email, [email protected] to see whether they still carry individual copies. I also believe you can get a 6 month subscription which would not be quite as pricey as taking on the whole year.

Yes, Haberman's does carry individual copies and will ship! Just give them your CC number on the phone, and you're all set!

I've also seen issues for sale on ebay, that's how I got my first one!

PatternReview has a classified page, and there is one for sale there...

      Hurry! Go fast!!!
